Welcome

Welcome to the community consultation website for Spaldington Airfield Wind Farm.

Coriolis Energy and their partners Falck Renewables plc have submitted a planning application for a wind farm on area of land about 5 km north of Howden in Yorkshire.  The wind farm would potentially consist of 5 wind turbines and, if constructed, generate sufficient green electricity for at least 5,900 homes 1.

A wind farm in this area would have the potential to make a contribution to meeting both national and regional targets for the increased use of renewable energy, reducing the country's dependency on fossil fuel imports and helping address the causes of climate change.

Numerous studies have been carried out in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements and planning guidance.  These studies demonstrate that Spaldington Airfield is a good location to accommodate a wind farm.

The evnvironmental studies have been submitted with a planning application to East Riding of Yorkshire Council.  To make your views known e-mail beverley.dc@eastriding.gov.uk quoting reference 09/04550/STPLFE and your postal address or write to Head of Planning and Development, County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA.  You can also email us direct on info@spaldingtonwindfarm.co.uk.
